SWINGING BLUESROCK, STRAIGHT OUT OF THE TRUNK
Ever since 2011, The White Van, containing his men, does chitty chitty bang bang all over European roads.
Former hardrockformation Gasoline 98 sought and found new vocals. Someone who drove into the rehearsel cave in an odd looking van and a selfmade amplifier. With this, how to call it, characteristic vocals, the music bended towards pure, muddy bluesrock.
During 2015 the rhythm-section was refreshed with Adriaan on drums, pushing up clicks and putting the ‘swing’ in the blues. When one think things could not go worse, he found his alike in Mik on bass.
Described as “rough, hardened bluesrock with a funky or psychedelic touch”, and “a voice that sounds like four pounds of gravel and cigarettebutts has been pushed through”, this band proves itself on every stage.
What started as a one time favour for a live radio-broadcast, continued as the ‘unplugged sessions’ to serve smaller venues as well. These undressed songs are bending towards an intimate side, but are still standing tall like a Jewish settlement or are unfolding themselves into a box of tissues.
Particulary feeling cosy during live-shows, receiving multiple audience awards, in the meantime 2 records where produced; plugged and unplugged. Keeping the agenda rather spacious during 2017, the band retreated itself to work on and record new songs early 2018. After that, White Van Men is more than ever ready, willing and able.
